Outdoor FAMILY SESSIONS
Whether there's a special place that you've already set your heart on, or you'd like to chat about which locations I'd suggest for this time of year, an outdoor photoshoot is perfect for families who love to explore together.
My boys are often at their happiest outside in nature. Whether your children might be quiet and shy initially or wild and rambunctious, they are welcome to come as they are.
If you'd like a documentary session, I will just join you with my camera. This style of photographs is totally candid - with no direction at all from me. You guys will lead the session, and I will just capture what I see.
If you'd like a little more guidance, I can suggest prompts and games to give our session some structure, and take more of a lead to suggest the best spots in our location for creating beautiful photographs.
Either way, we will be capturing natural, authentic reactions and all my sessions contain some documentary elements. I'm always taking photographs of the in-between moments and little interactions between you all, because that's where I think the magic is!
I'll spend some time before the session getting to know your family (I'll send out a questionnaire to find our more about you guys); we'll plan the perfect session so we can capture this stage of your family's life together...

FAQ
What if it rains on our session date?
When you book in, I will suggest that we reserve two different dates / times for an outdoor session. Nearer the time, we will look at the forecast and chose which looks best. If the forecast changes and there is rain we can reschedule if you prefer. (Though I'm also happy to meet you with umbrellas- honestly splashing about in puddles can produce such fun photos!) If we are unable to find a new date, I will return your deposit in full.
HOw much guidance do you give during the session?
This totally depends on what would make your family most comfortable. We will plan the session in advance- if you want me to simply document your family on a typical walk or adventure, I can turn up and capture whatever I see. If you'd like more guidance, I can suggest games, prompts and locations. I prefer to guide families with actions rather than stiff poses. We can try both approaches on the day, and see what works best for you!
Can you recommend any good locations?
Of course! Depending on the time of year, there are a number of locations around Marlow, Maidenhead, Henley and Windsor that I often use for sessions. Get in touch and I can share some favourites! If there are outdoor locations which are special to your family, I'm happy to go somewhere that you pick too.
Can we bring our pet? What about grandparents?
Yes, of course, please do invite anyone you'd like to include in our session! I want to capture this stage of your family's life as authentically as possible, so if you usually bring your furry friend on a family walk, please bring him /her along. I can send your examples of family portraits including pets - and I love creating multi-generational family portraits. Including grandparents in family photographs is so important to me with my own family, and I'd love to create multi-generational family portraits for you too.
